SATTE New Delhi 2014

SATTE exhibition and conference is ‘South Asia’s leading travel and tourism event’, and takes centre stage in the heart of New Delhi every January. As part of the busy programme organised and facilitated by UNWTO’s Silk Road programme director, Alla Peressolova, Jonathan was invited to speak on the theme of The Indian tourism jigsaw: Working through the nation and states conundrum, and then participate in a lively panel discussion on ‘Tourism for national development’.

The event was an ideal opportunity to share and exchange experiences on the challenges India faces when seeking to maximize its benefits from sustainable tourism development, whilst set within a complex political and social framework. In particular, Jonathan, drew upon the work that he and Touch TD have been involved in alongside long time collaborators Banglanatak.com in West Bengal state.
