The CULTURATI Pilot sites are coming alive!
A central feature of the CULTURATI project comes with the application of the platform across a variety of arts and heritage settings. In the past month Touch TD has had the opportunity to meet and share research updates with two of our five pilot sites, where this innovative research is ongoing. First we headed to the heel of Italy and the rich cultural and agricultural landscapes of Puglia. Meridaunia Local Action Group (LAG) hosted the latest consortium meeting for the project in the beautiful hill top town of Bovino ⛫

The project group then moved on to another highlight of the region, in the archaeolgical hotspot that is Ascoli Satriano (FG). Before meeting in the archaeological museum with a host of other projects active with Meridaunia LAG, we were treated to a remarkable re-enactment performance which brought to life some of the ancient chapters that occurred in the locality.

Later in the day we hit a milestone by testing the next prototype of hashtag#CULTURATI platform as we navigated our way around the ancient town. The focus of CULTURATI project, is to consider how artificial intelligence #AI can enhance the management of cultural heritage sites and enrich the visitor experiences. The platform supports these efforts by allowing visitors and other users to customise their routes while adding an engaging layer of content sharing and information through gamification.
The test in Ascoli Satriano was an important step forward for this hashtag#HorizonRIA project, helping us gather valuable feedback to improve the technology and move toward prototype two. It also allowed us to explore how digital tools can enhance the discovery of local hashtag#culturalheritage and hidden treasures.
With memories of Puglia still fresh in our minds, we then joined up with the coordination team from Bilkent University, to explore how the UNESCO world heritage site of Blenheim Palace has been considering how CULTURATI can add to ways in which visitors experience its many layers of art and heritage

Particularly in this coming period as significant rehabiliation works take place with the roof to the palace, the CULTURATI platform will play an important role in encouraging visitors to find their way not just inside the palace, but out to some of the hidden corners of the estate and its remarkable range of biodiversity.
A special thanks to hashtag#GALMeridaunia, with Daniele Borrelli and Angela Maria Loporchio and all the staff, for their warm welcome to the Monti Dauni region – and as always a huge thankyou to David Green and the wonderful team at Blenheim Palace 🌞
